Jan B. Schmutz is an SNF professor at the Department of Psychology at the University of Zurich, Switzerland. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. His research examines how team processes and emergent states (e.g., psychological safety, team cohesion) influence individual and team outcomes. A specific focus of his research is on how teams reflect and adapt when facing extreme events. Therefore, he collaborates with a number of healthcare institutions in Europe, various Polar Programs, and the European Space Agency.
