Matthias Weigl (Diploma and Doctorate in Psychology) is a Professor for Patient Safety at the University Hospital of Bonn University (Germany). His research interests are mainly in the areas of work design, provider wellbeing as well as quality of care in health care organizations. His past research projects investigated work environments in the hospital (such as operating rooms and emergency departments) and potential system-related effects for physician and nurse well-being as well as patient care quality and safety.
