BSAH 2024 in Stavanger

BSAH Conference in Stavanger, Norway November 29-30, 2024

This November, Tools4teams researchers brought their innovative work to Stavanger, joining fellow healthcare scientists at the 18th International Meeting on Behavioural Science Applied to Healthcare (BSAH), November 29-30, 2024.

Our doctoral candidates brought fresh perspectives to crucial healthcare challenges:

Jingwen Yang revealed insights from her literature review on how biofeedback influences team dynamics, while Yutian Sun mapped patient journeys to enhance communication in hand-wrist orthopedic care. Lilien Schewski showed how speech patterns can unveil stress and negative emotions in healthcare settings.

Kathrin Adamietz took us inside virtual tumor board meetings, examining their unique workflow demands. Laura Moens synthesized situation awareness assessment methods across different fields, and Arndt Pool explored the quality of reflexion behaviours in debriefings of simulation-based training of medical personnel. Lastly, Sara Cucurachi tackled the emerging field of virtual wards, while Marija Topalovic shared new findings on understanding conflicts in operating rooms.

Senior researchers from Tools4Teams enriched the conference with their work – exploring everything from noise levels in surgery to communicating with non-speaking patients, and the complexity of healthcare team dynamics.

Doctoral candidates Asma and Jicke had an amazing time learning the ropes of conference organisation while working with Sissel Husebø, Karina Aase, and Lene Schibevaag – getting to experience firsthand how these experienced researchers bring such an event together!

Next stop: BSAH 2025 at King’s College London, December 4-5. See you there!
