On the 21st and 22nd of September, it was time – the kick-off meeting with the newly recruited doctoral candidates, their supervisors, and other associated partners took place in Amsterdam. After a long recruitment process, we were happy to finally get to know each other better with the help of team-building activities.
During this meeting, we discussed the agenda for the next months, talked about how to conduct ethical research, and established a green team for sustainable research. Additionally the Doctoral Candidates chose their ombudsman and their training plans were introduced. All attendants could learn about Patient Safety, and took part on an interactive session on Scientific Integrity, among others.
The interdisciplinary and intercultural diversities of the candidates were impressive, and we are all looking forward to the next months of research, contributing to better teamwork and patient care!
Of course, there was also time for some team-building and team-work activities. On Thursday morning everyone got to know each other better with some ice-breaking card games answering questions about themselves. And in the evening, everyone headed to the river Amstel and went rowing together!
All in all, a succesful meeting in an nice atmosphere in Amsterdam!
